HELLO!! I am a Vodafone World of Difference winner and I’m here in FoodCycle Central for two months. It is an awesome place to work and the first week went well. I came from a research environment that is a bit stuffy and not as happy so this is a pleasant change. I’ve been volunteering with FoodCycle since May 2009 in the Imperial College Hub. I liked it so much I worked my way into FoodCycle Central here in busy Brick Lane.
I learnt to cook from my sister and mother who are both excellent cooks who enjoy cooking and making new dishes. My sister’s chocolate and raspberry cake is truely mouth-watering. (Samiksha, if you read this please make another one soon!)
I think I have to say a bit more about myself in this blog post but I’m not sure what to write. In my spare time i like juggling, practicing tai chi, taking photos of London, horror movies and eating good food. I guess you could just find me on Facebook. But don’t, you won’t find much because I don’t like Facebook. I’m trying to use twitter but i’m still undecided about it. However, Vodafone gave us a smartphone to tweet so I’m going to try. They also gave me a blog and I’ve written a couple posts
Another thing about me is that I love stories. Movies, books and especially real-life stories. I think everyone has a great story to tell. I love visiting themoth.org and TED because you always hear amazing things from all sorts of people.
You’ll see me around FoodCycle Central till late May. The World of Difference programme is two months long and I’ll be making the most of it.
